BIR-9 exceeds 3rd quarter collection goal, Conding

Pagadian City (Nov 19) – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR-IX), Revenue District Office No. 92 once again exceeded its third quarter target collection goal of some P56 million, RDO Atty. Nasrollah B. Conding said.

Conding said, the collections formed part of their July-September target, registering a 105 percent increase compared to last year’s P26-million of the same period.

Our office was named as the “most performing RDO” in the entire Zamboanga Peninsula. This feat Conding happily said, was attributed of being Pagadian City as the new regional center in Western Mindanao and because of this development business enterprises began to mushroom in the city.

Conding declared that the consistency in the tax collection is also attributed to the cooperation of honest and sincere taxpayers who responded to BIR’s various tax campaigns.

By the end of November, Conding revealed, their office will conduct another tax mapping operations to monitor and determine the new business establishments in the city, especially that by the next month the City Commercial Center (C3) will be open for business.

Conding said, they want to make sure that all business establishments are armed with business permits and registered with BIR. He stressed by saying that tax collections is their main concern and should be collected by the government, and besides, these taxes are considered as the lifeblood of the nation’s development through project implementation.

Presently, BIR-IX has collected some P9 million in real property taxes using the old rate. The newly submitted proposal was met with numerous objections. He however said the collections still exceeded that of last year by almost half, Conding concluded. (pia9/zds/cal)
