Gob. Lanete dinalaw ang mga evacuees

Masbate (Nobyembre 22) - Naaalala ang isla ng Ticao kapag nababalitaan ang nakakaakit na Manta Ray bowl sa Ticao Pass.

Subalit kamakailan, ang naturang isla ay naging laman ng balita hindi dahil sa Manta kundi tungkol sa sagupaan ng tropa ng militar at ng mga redeldeng New People’s Army na naganap kamakailan sa isang liblib na pamayanan sa Ticao.

Kamakalawa, dinalaw ni Masbate Gobernador Rizalina Lanete ang mga pamilya na lumikas mula sa naturang barangay.

Namudmud ng bigas at iba pang pagkain ang gobernador matapos ang isang maikling programa na ginanap mismo sa barangay plaza ng Piña kung saan ginarantiyahan ng gobernador ang kaligtasan ng mga pamilya na babalik na sa kanilang mga inabandonang bahay at kabuhayan.

Naiulat ng mga opisyal ng San Jacinto na nakabalik na ang 68 pamilyang pansamantalang nakitira sa mga kaanak sa poblasyon ng San Jacinto dahil anila’y natakot na maipit sa crossfire ng militar at NPA.

Dahil sa liblib na pook ang Piña, dito nag-ooperate ang NPA at sa sagupaang naganap, isang rebelde ang napatay at ilang kasamahan nito ang nasugatan. (PIA Masbate)
