DSWD urges students to support to 5-year research agendaTUGUEGARAO CITY, Jan. 1 (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) region 2 has urged students who are about to conduct research to focus on topics in relation to social services and protection in support to the 5-year research agenda of the department.
Angely Lubo, information officer, said the social welfare department is looking for student researches that could help them in the conduct of studies on social protection and services, which will eventually lead to the identification of the pressings needs and issues of the people in a certain community.
She explained that the researches which will be conducted will be utilized to address some of the issues and concerns based on the results of the studies.
There are some identified research topics but Lubo stated that other researches which are anchored on social services may be included in the 5-year research agenda of DSWD.
“Preferably, the topics should be anchored on the programs, projects, activities and initiatives of the department such as the 4Ps, children in conflict with the law, poverty alleviation programs, social assistance, livelihood and disaster response,” Lubo said.
She stated that they will also help some of the researchers to look for sponsors to finance the conduct of the research by linking them to other agencies that could support the research.
Lubo also stated that the results of the studies will lead to development of the communities and identify the real needs of the people, especially the vulnerable and underprivileged.
At this point, Lubo said there were already some who are conducting actual researches and some already finished them. (TCB/OTB/PIA-2)
