Balocnit TABUK CITY, Kalinga, Jan. 1(PIA)-- The Community Health and Development (CHD) is inviting media practitioners to participate and submit entries in the First Linggop Cordillera Health Media Awards that seeks to award best news reports on health. Dr. Bernadette Andaya, Kalinga CHD Team Head said published write-ups, broadcasted news, and photos will be judged according to fairness and balance, timeliness, insight, impact, and quality. They should help advocate health programs and projects in the region, and contribute improvements on the health conditions of the people. To qualify for this award, Andaya said an entry for local print reporting must have been developed and published in a newspaper, magazine or other print outlet circulating in the Cordillera Administrative Region. The same holds true for photo. For broadcast reporting, it covers radio and television pieces developed for local broadcast and aired. For the three categories, each must focus on the quarterly theme this time on “Community Health Teams.” Andaya said the competition is open to journalists working for Cordillera including freelance journalists on newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations, wire services and networks.
