NCIP gives medical supplies to Basco health workersby Necitas G. Alconis
BASCO, Batanes, Jan. 2 (PIA) -- The National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) recently provided basic medical supplies to 42 Barangay Health Workers (BHW) at the NCIP office here.
Tomas Ibardo, NCIP provincial chief presented the items to BHW-Basco president Jayne Calucag, as witnessed by NCIP personnel and all BHWs.
The items include three micro tests, 18 bandage scissors, 10 hydrogen peroxide, 63 gauze pads, two elastic bandage, 20 boxes band aid of 50’s, four bottles of betadine, 42 digital thermometer, 42 rechargeable flashlights, 42 rubbing alcohol, 42 absorbent cotton and two plaster adhesive.
According to Calucag, the items were divided among the barangays and the three micro tests will be shared based on the needs of each barangay.
The medical supplies were requested by the barangay health workers of Basco, the first among the six municipalities to request and the first to receive medical supplies from the office of NCIP.
Calucag said the other municipalities also requested for medical supplies and they are waiting for the approval of the NCIP. (TCB/NGA/PIA 2)
