Skies light up in 4th Lights of Bagoby Easter Anne D. Doza
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Jan. 2 (PIA) -- Thousands of spectators from Bago City and neighboring towns and cities witnessed the 20-minute musical fireworks display at the Manuel Torres Memorial Sports Complex last January 1.
“You don’t know where to look first,” a spectator said as most of the audience were trying to capture the spectacles of the display. Another even commented that the entire lighted space cannot fit the frame of the camera.
Since its inception in 2009, the event has continued to draw in more and more crowd each year.
Vice Mayor Nicolas Yulo, the event chair for the 4th Lights of Bago, said that they wanted to make it a tradition, while also supporting the advocacy of the government on the proper use of firecrackers.
This is supported by Mayor Ramon Torres, who hopes that for 2012, Filipinos will all be family-oriented, bringing back the old family tradition and values. (JCM/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
