PIA Press Release Monday, January 02, 2012 San Narciso SEA-K beneficiaries receive financial assistanceby Lito M. GironSAN NARCISO, Quezon, Jan. 2 (PIA) -- Three Self-Employment Assistance – Kaunlaran (SEA-K) associations in this town received financial assistance for local livelihood projects in the amount of Php 471, 000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) IV-A office. Eric Guevarra, SEA-K project development officer said the financial assistance is intended to augment the current livelihood of the 55 beneficiaries of SEA-K in this town. The livelihood activities include hog raising, fishing, vegetable farming, and food selling. The amount released to the beneficiaries is payable in one year with no interest and other fees, according to Guevarra. Meanwhile, the distribution of livelihood assistance was led by San Narciso Mayor Eleanor Uy, and assisted by Municipal Social Welfare Development Officer Shirley Reforma and Jose Gorordo, unit head, livelihood division of DSWD IV-A. Mayor Uy expressed gratitude to President Noynoy Aquino for choosing San Narciso as one of the beneficiaries of SEA-K program, adding that the livelihood assistance was a big help to her constituents particularly in improving their living conditions. The beneficiaries of financial assistance are the Kanyugan SEA-K Association, P208,000; Malinao SEA-K Association, P135,000; and Bangkuro SEA-K Association, P128,000. (PIA-Quezon) |
