DSWD allocates P10.7-M to sustain feeding program in Ifugaoby Vency D. Bulayungan
LAGAWE, Ifugao, Jan. 2 (PIA)-- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported that the feeding program of the government is going-on smoothly in all the 11 towns of the province.
The total amount allocated for the said program is P10,736,425.00 which was downloaded to the local government units (LGUs).
The supplementary feeding program is the provision of food in a form of hot meals in addition to the regular meals to currently enrolled day care children as part of DSWD’s contribution to the early childhood care and development (ECCD) program of the government.
The feeding program will encourage children to attend school, teach parents the value of nutritious foods and strengthen the cooperation of parents to work among themselves to provide healthy food for children to assist in their growth.
The province has 343 day care centers(DCCs) with 6,599 day care children(DCCh) broken down to: Aguinaldo-32 DCCs and 835 DCCH; Alfonso Lista-46 and 1,001; Asipulo-26 and 416; Banaue-44 and 879;Hingyon-18 and 326; Hungduan-19 and 318; Kiangan-38 and 558; Lagawe-28 and 547; Lamut-33 and 618; Mayoyao-35 and 554; Tinoc-24 and 547.
The LGU here entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) in line with the implementation of the program. (JDP/VDB- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
