PIA Press Release Tuesday, January 03, 2012 PNP-8 synchronizes removal of taped muzzles of firearms CAMP RUPERTO KANGLEON, Palo, Leyte, Jan 3 (PIA) –- The Philippine National Police Regional Office 8, on January 2, joined in the synchronized removal of the taped muzzles of firearms of PNP personnel nationwide, PNP 8 regional director Arthur Revilla said. The activity signaled the culmination of the Yuletide Season celebration and served as an inspection activity in compliance with the no indiscriminate firing on New Year’s Eve directive of PNP. The Regional Headquarters Support Group (RHSG), in coordination with the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (R1), spearheaded the synchronized removal of the taped muzzles inside PRO 8 camp during the Flag Raising Ceremony on January 2. According to PSSUPT Edgar O. Basbas, deputy regional director for Operations, the proactive measure against indiscriminate firing has been strictly implemented and followed by the police force in the entire region. There was no reported incident of such act by any PNP personnel in the region, Basbas said. A random paraffin testing was also conducted among the PNP personnel to ensure none of them violated the order of indiscriminate firing during the New Year revelry. PNP 8 director Revilla is grateful for the peaceful celebration of the Yuletide Season. He also expressed high hopes for the whole PNP organization to fulfill its thrust on the PNP Integrated Transformation Program, Basbas said. (PIA 8) |
