DOE to conduct Oil Industry Stakeholders confabby Elaine O. Ratunil
CAGAYAN DE ORO, January 03 (PIA) -- The Department of Energy (DOE) will conduct a dialogue/meeting with the different downstream oil industry stakeholders here on January 5.
Coming to the meeting are the local government units (LGUs), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and transport groups, said DOE Mindanao Director Manuel Llaneza.
The DOE led by Undersecretary Jose M. Layug, Jr., will present and discuss during the meeting the local and international oil price situationers, including pertinent issues and concerns that are currently confronting the downstream oil industry.
Likewise, the meeting will be followed with a press conference to be participated by the tri-media coming from this city.
Republic Act 8479, otherwise known as the Downstream Oil Industry Deregulation Act of 1998, mandates the DOE to promote retail competition through the establishment of Gasoline Station Training and Loan Funds to provide credit assistance to the news industry players in the petroleum retail.
Meanwhile, the success of the program hinges on the mutual support and cooperation of the DOE and its stakeholders. Hence, the DOE has embarked on establishing strong linkages and collaborative partnerships with key organizations. (PIA-10)
