Roperos BUTUAN CITY, Jan. 3 (PIA) -– An official from the Philippine National Police (PNP) - Caraga Region expressed his gratitude to all the police men and women of the region for not firing their issued firearms during the New Year’s eve celebration. In an interview with a radio station here this morning, PSSupt David Ombao, PNP-Caraga Directorial Staff said with the zero casualty on indiscriminate firing, it shows that police officers in all the provinces of Caraga Region were not able to fire their issued guns and firearms. Ombao stressed that the police officers in the region are disciplined and professionals that they have followed the orders and directives of the higher authorities of the country’s police force. The official said that although there were two cases of firecracker-related incidents recorded, the victims only incurred minor injuries. With this, Ombao said this is a very successful undertaking of the PNP as well as the other government agencies in an effort to have a peaceful and injury-free celebration of New Year in the region.
