NYC pushes for institutionalizing youth organizations-gov't partnershipby Phres A. Evardone
QUEZON CITY, Jan. 3 (PIA) -- The National Youth Commission (NYC) is pushing for the institutionalization of partnership between youth organizations and government agencies. This move is to strengthen the participation of the youth sector in nation-building, said NYC Chairman Leon Flores during the program Talking Points, Tuesday.
Flores added that the said agenda has already passed the NYC level but they still have to introduce this to various executive departments.
He said that through this institutionalization, government agencies or departments could consult their partner-youth organizations in crafting policies and implementing their programs.
Flores said some government agencies and departments already have partner- youth organizations. The Department of Social Worker and Development works with the Pag-asa Youth Association in helping out-of-school children; the Department of Agriculture works with the 4-H Club; and the Office of the Ombudsman works with the Junior Graft Watch.
“Talking Points” is a program sponsored by the Philippine Communication and Operations Office (PCOO), Philippine Information Agency (PIA). It is aired over People’s Television (PTV-4) and Radyo ng Bayan nationwide. (PAE/PIA-GHQ)
