PNP conducts 14th leg of Takbong Maharlika in Tacloban
CAMP RUPERTO KANGLEON, Palo, Leyte, Jan 4 (PIA) -– The 14th leg of the “Takbong Maharlika Tungo sa Pagkakaisa” of the Philippine National Police is set to be conducted in Tacloban City at 4:00 a.m., January 4.
Police Chief Superintendent Arnold R. Revilla, Region 8 director, said that retired PCSupt Samson R. Tucay and party arrived at the DZR Airport on January 3 in order to spearhead the Takbong Maharlika in Tacloban. PDDG Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr., the Deputy Chief for Operations, and PDIR GEORGE Q PIANO, the Directorate for Logistics are also expected to join the activity.
The activity will kick-off with simple ceremony before the run which will start along Maharlika Highway from Barangay Bagacay to Imelda Village, Police Chief Superintendent Arnold R. Revilla said.
Afterwards, a forum on PNP ITP-PGS (Integrated Transformation Program-Performance Governance System) will be held at the Tacloban Convention Center at 7:30 a.m.
The “Takbong Maharlika, Tungo sa Pagkakaisa” is a PNP project that aims to encourage and urge PNP personnel and citizens in the locality to take on the fitness project and bring about national culture of fitness leading to the vision of a healthier and happier Philippines.
The run started on August 8, 2011 in Ilocos Norte and will end in Zamboanga City covering more than 2,500 kilometers of the Maharlika Highway (AH26) in a daily run of the seven months challenge. (PIA 8)
