DAR installs new ARBs in Sagay and IsabelaNEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Jan. 4 (PIA6) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) installed 49 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) just before 2011 ended.
Twenty-seven of the 49 ARBs are from Had. Varela, Barangay Camang-Camang in Isabela town while 22 were officially installed in the Voluntary Offer to Sell (VOS) landholding of Ricardo Coscolluela, et.al. in Barangay Andres Bonifacio in Sagay City.
The ARBs were reminded of their obligations such as land amortization to the Land Bank of the Philippines and land taxes to their respective local government units.
The total Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) acquired area distributed to the 27 ARBs is 22.0574 hectares which is a property formerly owned by the Rio Carmel Agricultural Enterprises, Incorporated.
Installation took place in the newly harvested and vacant portion of Hda. Varela and right after harvest, the ARBs will gradually takeover possession only on the acquired portion covered by their individual CLOA resulting from the final survey conducted for individual lots designated to each ARBs.
For the Sagay City ARBs, the total CARP acquired area is 27.3 hectares.
The ARBs in Sagay City were already in actual physical possession and cultivation of the whole area.
ARB Raclito Comawas, Jr. expressed his gratitude for the lot awarded to him together with its CLOA.
Meanwhile the newly installed OIC PARO II for Northern Negros Occidental Dr. Enrique Paderes is facing the challenge to deliver the land acquisition and distribution target for the year 2012 with support services and the delivery of agrarian justice to all ARBs regardless of affiliation, in accordance with RA 9700 or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms.*(JCM/EAD-PIA6/DAR Negros Occidental)
