Neg. Occ gov urges OPA to maximize delivery of servicesBACOLOD CITY, January 4 (PIA6) -- Neg. Occ. Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. encouraged the personnel of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) to maximize their efforts in delivering agricultural services of the provincial government to the Negrense community, a Capitol press release said.
Gov. Marañon said this during the 2012 Direction Setting and Thanksgiving held at the OPA Office, Provincial Administration Center Building in Bacolod City, recently.
The OPA personnel also turned over a total of P22,000 cash to Gov. Marañon as their donation to the typhoon victims in Negros Oriental.
Gov. Maranon said Negros Occidental ranks first in Region VI in terms of rice productivity and ranks 10th in the whole country. He said the province’s productivity could still be improved to ensure food security and income generation and to help alleviate the plight of farmers.
The OPA personnel, in response to the challenges posed by governor, said in one voice that they are willing to do their best to help the Negrense community.(CAD/JCM/PIA6/Capitol News)
