City council prioritize financial assistance to cops in 2012by Lorebeth C. Requiroso
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, January 4 –- The City Council approved the recommendation of the bicameral committee for an increase in the allocation for the incentives of uniformed men assigned in the city.
The Cagayan de Oro Police Office has a force of 750 men as of now.
City Police Director Gerardo Rosales said this will be augmented by 100 more police officers this year.
Hence, the city will need P16.5 million to provide financial assistance every month to every police officers serving the city.
This is in addition to the city government’s assistance to the police for gasoline and other needs.
Meanwhile, the bicameral committee chaired by Councilor Simeon Licayan also recommended funding for the purchase of four (4) units base radio, 12 units handheld radio and fire hoses, among others for the Cagayan de Oro Fire Station next year. (LCR/PIA-10)
