Gov urges PGLU employees to deepen commitment to public serviceby Monette H. Herrera
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Jan. 04 (PIA) -- Governor Manuel C. Ortega of the province of La Union challenged all employees of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to deepen their commitment to public service for the projects and programs planned for this year, during the first Monday Flag Raising program last January 2.
Ortega’s call is to realize and sustain the planned programs and projects for the development of the province.
Likewise, this is in line with the Regional Development Plan wherein Local Government Units strategies are to sustain their programs to achieve good governance.
Moreover, these projects and programs includes relocation of the Provincial Engineering’s Motor Pool to give way to a modern farm demo, establishment of the Provincial Sports Center and the commencement of PGLU employees housing program, among others.
PGLU will seek assistance from the Home Development Mutual Fund and the Government Service Insurance System for the completion of the PGLU Housing Project.
The governor also assured that the salary increase which was scheduled this year for PGLU employees shall be implemented, despite the expected decrease of the province’s Internal Revenue Allotment.(ANL/ MHH/Rejene Flores/PIA 1 La Union)
