Tagalog News: Traffic rerouting ikinasa sa Pista ng Black Nazarene

MANILA, Jan. 5 (PIA) -- Pinapayuhan ang mga motorista na magiging mabigat ang daloy ng trapiko sa Maynila sa Lunes, Enero 9, dahil sa inaasahang pagdagsa ng libu-libong deboto para sa Pista ng Black Nazarene.

Pinaniniwalaan kasing mapag-himala ang maitim na imahe ni Hesu Kristo na matatagpuan sa simbahan ng Quiapo.

Sa taya ng mga lokal na opisyal, aabot sa walong milyon ang sasali sa taunang prosesyon, na magsisimula sa Quirino Grandstand at magtatapos sa Quiapo Church.

Sinabi naman ng mga organizer na ibabalik nila ang tradisyunal na ruta ng Nazareno, matapos higit na mas maraming tao ang nagtamo ng sugat nang ibahin ng mga ito ang ruta nakaraang taon.

Aabot naman sa 1,600 na pulis at mga volunteer ang mangangalaga sa kaligtasan ng lugar.

Kaugnay nito, isang traffic rerouting scheme ang ikinasa ng lokal na pamahalaan.

Pinapayuhan ang mga motorista na umiwas muna sa mga lugar na ito sa araw mismo ng prosesyon:

1. Kahabaan ng Roxas Blvd./ Bonifacio Drive mula sa Anda Circle hanggang TM Kalaw north at southbound lane

2. Southbound ng Quezon Blvd. mula Recto hanggang Palanca (Subway-Isetan Recto)

3. Kahabaan ng Lerma mula P. Campa patungong Quezon Blvd.

4. Taft Ave./Finance (westbound lane)

5. Lagusnilad/P. Burgos (westbound lane)

6. P. Burgos/Taft Ave (Freedom Triangle-northbound lane)

7. Villegas/N.A. Lopez

8. 25th Street/Bonifacio Drive (southbound)

Bukod pa rito, mula alas-5:00 a.m.ng Enero 9 ay isasara sa daloy ng trapiko ang southbound lane ng Quezon Blvd. (Quiapo), mula Andalucia/Fugoso hanggang Plaza Miranda at maging ang España/P. Campa/Lerma. (RJB/JCP-PIA NCR)
