Carmona’s blood donation mission draws supportCARMONA, Cavite, January 5 (PIA) -- A total of 88 donors from different companies, including national agencies and municipal employees, shared their blood as the local government through its municipal health office completed their recent blood donation mission held at the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy clinic (PT/OT) of the Carmona main health center.
With the theme: “Dugo mong Iaalay, Pantawaid Buhay,” this undertaking by the local government headed by Mayor Dahlia Loyola was in support to the national government campaign to promote and encourage voluntary blood donation by the citizens.
Also, this was part of the local government continuing support to Republic Act 7719 or the “The National Blood Services Act.” It is an “Act promoting voluntary blood donation, providing for an adequate supply of blood, regulating blood banks, and providing penalties for violation thereof.”
One municipal employee identified as Carline Almenar said that donating blood is one of her commitment in life and an amazing feeling for her that her blood will save someone’s life.
Medical experts confirmed that there are many health benefits by donating blood like the lowering of iron levels; reduce of having cancer and the risk of heart attack. (Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite/Carmona PIO)
