PIA Press Release Thursday, January 05, 2012 Students, avail free eye refraction offering of local governmentCARMONA, Cavite, January 5 (PIA) --- A total of 117 students from the Carmona National High School (first year) were recently given a free eye refraction by the Carmona Rural Health Unit in cooperation with Cataract Foundation of the Philippines to determine the prescription of contact lenses or eyeglasses.The said procedure performed by an eye doctor was held at the Carmona National High School. The objective of this project is to give the students a better mental picture and become more attentive and productive in their studies and in their school activities. Organizers of this project revealed that those who tested with eye problem will be given free eyeglasses during the upcoming “Ulat ng Bayan” of Mayor Dahlia Loyola this year. In related development, the local government in partnership with the Cataract Foundation of the Philippines (CFP) will be holding a cataract operation this coming February 17. Seventeen patients with cataract and 6 patients with pterygium will be operated on the said date and they (patients) shall return on February 6 for the distribution of pre-operative medicines.
