Tagalog news: Rotating brownout, nakaambang ipatupad sa sakop ng SOCOTECO II

KORONADAL CITY, Enero 5 (PIA) –- Dahil kasalukuyang nasa “Red Alert" ang power situation sa Mindanao, maaaring makakaranas ng rotating brownout ang mga lugar na sakop ng South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative (Socoteco II) at kalapit lugar.

Ito ay ayon kay Socoteco II information officer Joy Celeste Alora na nagsabing mayroon umanong kakulangan ang power supply sa Mindanao grid dahil sa bumabang generation capacity ng National Power Corporation (NPC).

Ayon kay Alora dahil umano sa patuloy na pagbaba ng generation capacity ng NPC, maaaring magpatupad ng rotating brownout na magtatagal ng 45 minuto hanggang isang oras ang Socoteco II sa mga franchise areas nito.

Dagdag pa ni Alora, hindi umano matatag ang supply ng kuryente sa Socoteco II dahil sa kalumaan ng mga power plants na nag-ge-generate ng supply ng kuryente.

Pinangangambahan umanong lalala ang sitwasyon kung walang bagong power producers na makukuha ang Socoteco II.

Nauna na ring nagpatupad ng load curtailment ang National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) ng mga nakaraang araw dahil sa power generation deficiency na pumalo sa 6 MW noong araw ng Martes.

Ito umano ang naging dahilan kung bakit inilagay sa “Red Alert” status ang pangkalahatang power system condition ng Mindanao, ayon sa kalatas na ipinalabas ng NGCP. (ac agad PIA12)
