DSWD strengthens Legislative Liaison SystemQUEZON CITY, Jan. 5 -- In order to foster a responsive policy environment on social welfare and development (SWD), the DSWD is strengthening its internal Legislative Liaison System with the designation of a Department Legislative Liaison Officer (DLLO), with the rank of Assistant Secretary and the creation of a Department Legislative Liaison Unit (DLLO) headed by a Director.
Secretary Soliman has designated Florita R. Villar, Assistant Secretary for Policy and Programs Group as Department Legislative Liaison Officer (DLLO).
The DLLO, in close coordination and consultation with the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO), shall focus on the promotion of the department’s institutional synergy with Congress (Senate and House of Representatives). Likewise, the DLLO will ensure that senior officials will participate in plenary, committee hearings, and cluster level meetings of the Legislative Liaison System under the supervision of the PLLO.
“With our strengthened legislative liaison system we hope to expedite passage of priority policy reforms as well as develop sustained collaboration with the two Chambers of Congress, and other interests groups to generate maximum support for our legislative agenda,” Sectary Soliman disclosed (DSWD-Social Marketing Service)
