Edale, Jr. SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela, January 6 (PIA) –- The city’s Rescue 206 has acquired new firefighting equipment to better respond to fire incidents in the city. Claro Comoda, city disaster risk reduction management officer, said the city government has seen the need to provide the Rescue 206 personnel with firefighting equipment to improve response and safely perform duty of saving lives and properties relative to fire incidents. Among the firefighting equipment provided by the city government are fire trucks with ladder and firefighting suits. Comoda said sometimes Rescue 206 and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel are hard up in responding to fires due to limited firefighting equipment. Comoda admitted that his personnel still lack skills and knowledge in the operation of the new firefighting equipment and he has requested the assistance of the Bureau of Fire Protection to provide the necessary training on firefighting techniques and operations.
