Isabela to receive local government support fund from DILGby Merlito G. Edale, Jr.
ILAGAN, Isabela, January 6 (PIA) -– The provincial government of Isabela is set to receive the performance challenge fund from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) anytime this year.
Elpidio Durwin, local government operations officer of Isabela, said the provincial government
together with its two cities will receive P30 million support fund from the DILG.
Durwin said the local government support fund is only given to local government units who have followed the present administration’s full disclosure policy, good financial management and implemented the anti-red tape.
He added that before the release of the local government support fund, the DILG has made thorough evaluation to all local government units and those who met the criteria are given the seal of good housekeeping award and government support fund.
The local government support fund will be utilized for social services like health, education, infrastructure development and solid waste management.
The DILG will closely monitor the utilization of the local government support fund in each localities of the province. (TCB/MGE/PIA- Isabela)
