PIA Press Release Friday, January 06, 2012 CAAP appoints new Bacolod – Silay Airport managerBACOLOD CITY, January 6 (PIA6) -- The newly-installed Officer-In-Charge of the Bacolod-Silay Airport recently called on Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. to discuss plans and strategies to improve the present condition of the airport.Mecine T. Reyes, who was formerly assigned at the Caticlan Airport for many years, assumed office at the Bacolod-Silay Airport last Monday, January 2. Gov. Marañon advised Reyes to maintain a safe, secured, comfortable and clean airport since these are vital factors to attract domestic and foreign tourists to visit the province. They both agreed to work together for the enhancement and smooth operation of the airport. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said that Reyes is trained and experienced in handling multi-faceted airport operations and is familiar with the problems confronting CAAP.
