Bacoor gov't to require vendors to provide own trash binsBACOOR, Cavite, Jan. 6 (PIA) -- Street and ambulant vendors will be required to bring their own respective trash container to control the spread of diseases especially in public and private markets.
During the 43rd regular session of the Sangguniang Bayan last year, Councilor Jaime A. Sapanghila together with Councilors Reynaldo Palabrica and Bayani M. De Leon proposed the ordinance titled “Ambulant Vendors Trash Bin Ordinance of Bacoor” which aims to protect the environment and promotes public health in all public and private markets in the municipality.
This order will give vendors a sense of responsibility by bringing their own receptacles and help the local government in maintaining cleanliness and reduce the health hazards posed by indiscriminate throwing of garbage wastes.
Penalties ranging from P500 for first offense and as high as P2,500 and imprisonment of not more than two months will be imposed to violators the ordinance.
On the other hand, the Office of the municipal mayor will draft the implementing guidelines for the Order and likewise publish it in newspaper of general circulation in the province. (Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite)
