GUMACA, Quezon, Jan. 6 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Quezon Provincial Office led by Provincial Officer Malou Beredo held two trainings on Skills Registry System (SRS) recently in line with its implementation in this municipality.

SRS is a manpower database where job applicants register to create an online profile and post at Phil-Jobnet website. Employers looking for manpower to fill vacancies can easily connect with applicants", Beredo explained.

About 165 participants composed of barangay chairman, secretaries, councilors and municipal personnel attended the first briefing while the second briefing was attended by the staff members of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

PESO Manager Juanito Q. Nicolas thanked DOLE Quezon for spearheading the project that will help residents in finding employment. Likewise, Municipal Administrator Elmo P. Caralian acknowledged DOLE's project that will further enhance employability of Gumaca constituents.

Assigned PESO encoder and Barangay Mabini Councilor Bryan Banal, one of the participants trained on the SRS mechanics was the first resident to register at Phil-JobNet. He said "I'm happy for creating my account at Phil-JobNet which generated job matches immediately with my preferred occupation."

After the training DOLE-Quezon provided copies of SRS forms and manual of operations to PESO Gumaca and Barangay Employment Service Offices (BESO) for their reference. (DOLE-Quezon/NDS, PIA-4A)
