Bacolod City Treasurer’s Office declared best 5S implementor

BACOLOD CITY, Jan.7 (PIA) -- The Bacolod City Treasurer’s Office was awarded as one of the best 5S implementors among the city treasurer’s offices in the region.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia congratulated the City Treasurer’s Office under the able leadership of Ms. Annabelle Badajos for the recognition.

The award was given by the Department of Finance through the Bureau of Local Government Finance, Region 6 and the Regional Association of Treasurers and Assessors Region 6, Inc. (REGATA 6).

Bacolod City Treasurer Badajos and members of her staff received the recognition at the Iloilo Grand Hotel during the Pre-planning and 4th Quarter Regional Conference of Provincial, City and Municipal Assessors and Treasurers in the region.

“This recognition is very reassuring for us in the city government,” the Mayor said.

“The Treasurer’s Office is definitely a vital unit that somehow puts our financial condition in its proper place. Excellence should always be our standard. My sincerest congratulations to Treasurer Annabelle Badajos and her personnel,” Leonardia added.

The 5S represents the Japanese principles of Good Housekeeping: Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu and Shitsuke. Loosely translated they mean: Seiri (Sort), Seiton (systematize), Seiso (Sweep), Seiketsu ( Sanitize) and Shitsuke (self-discipline).

These principles are adapted in the everyday life of the Japanese culture, which begets a quality workplace that leads to customer Satisfaction.

These have been guiding principles for the business practices of some famous and successful enterprises, counting among them: Philamlife Insurance Company, Honda, Toyota, Panasonic, PLDT, Yazaki-Torres Mfg., Inc., St. Luke’s Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and Department of Labor and Employment-BLES.*(CMO/JSC/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
