Lopido TACLOBAN CITY Leyte, Jan. 7 (PIA) -– Among members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Leyte, only one, Atty. Roque A. Tiu got perfect attendance in 2011. This was indicated in an annual summary of sessions attended, Leaves and OB/Travels of the SP members of Leyte certified true and correct by Atty. Manuel A. Cadano, Secretary to the Sanggunian. The report stated that the total number of sessions conducted in 2011 was 48 and Board Member Tiu of the first District of Leyte was present in all the sessions. It was observed that BM Tiu also had perfect attendance in 2010. “I see to it that I don’t accept commitments on Tuesdays which will deter me from being able to attend the regular sessions of the Leyte SP,” BM Tiu said when interviewed by PIA. Considering that sessions are held only once a week, it is my top priority every Tuesday. After all, I was elected by the people to make legislations, he added. BM Tiu also topped the number of ordinances passed in 2011, having submitted five proposed ordinances, all of which were passed by the Leyte Provincial Board. BM Tiu is observed as one of the most active provincial legislator and is the only one who goes to his office everyday to attend to the needs of his constituents. Board Member Jonathan M. Remandaban of the 3rd District attended 46 of the total 48 sessions. He was out on official business or travel in the two times that he was not physically present in the sessions. Meanwhile, Board Member Rolando Piamonte of the 3rd District, attended 45 sessions; Board Member Antonio Jabilles of the 4th District attended 44 sessions; Board Member Deborah Bertulfo, also of the 4th District, attended 43 sessions; and Board Member Ma. Lourdes Go-soco attended 42 sessions. Both Board Members Anlie G. Apostol of the 2nd District and Wilson Uy, the president of the Leyte Legislators League, were present in 39 sessions; while Vice Mayor Ma. Mimietta Bagulaya was present in 38 sessions. On the other hand, Board Members Niccolo Villasin of the 2nd District, CarloP. Loretto of the 5th District and Kim Roger Serdoncillo of the SK Federation, were present in 35 sessions. Board Member Margarita Cari, president of the Liga nga mga Barangay, and 5th District Board Member Florante Cayunda Jr., were present in 34 and 33 sessions, respectively. (PIA 8) |
