Tagalog news: Manu-manong pagtanggal ng mga batong nakabara sa Luhan River, di nagtagumpay

KORONADAL CITY, Ene. 9 (PIA) -- Hindi lubusang natanggal ang mga batong nakabara sa Luhan River, anim na kilometro sa ibaba ng Lake Maughan sa bayan ng T’boli, ayon kay South Cotabato Gov. Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr.

Matatandaang ilang tao ang ipinadala ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council sa Luhan River nitong nakalipas na linggo upang alisin ang mga gumuhong bato at putik sa Luhan River matapos gumuho ang isang bahagi ng bundok doon at bumara sa daloy ng tubig.

Subalit ayon kay Gov. Pingoy may mga batong kasing laki ng sasakyan ang bumara sa ilog na hindi kaya sa manu-manong operasyon.

Nauna nang ipinaliwanag ni John Lorca, staff ng Provincial Social Welfare and Development at ni Provincial Administrator at PDDRMO head Isidro Janita na walang dapat ikabahala sa naturang sitwasyon dahil ayon kay Lorca, patuloy namang dumadaloy ang tubig sa ilang bahagi ng nabuong embankment.

Sa meeting ng PDRRMO ngayong linggo, ayon kay Gov. Pingoy, hihilingin niya ang payo ng Mines and Geoscience Bureau kung paano malulutas ang naturang sitwasyon.

Muling ipinaliwanag ni Gov. Pingoy na hindi nakakaalarma ang sitwasyon dahil walang posibilidad na magkakaroon ng flashflood dahil sa pagbabara dahil maliit lang ang nabuong ‘dam’ sa lugar. Kalahati ng isang standard size swimming pool lang umano ang lawak nito at kailangan lang maalis upang huwag nang lumala ang sitwasyon. (DEDoguiles/PIA 12)
