PIA Press Release Tuesday, January 10, 2012 Nueva Vizcaya rescue group bares 2012 planby Ben Moses EbreoBAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, January 10 (PIA) - Strengthening partnerships, training of members and positioning of resources will be pursued by a rescue and disaster response group here this year to improve its services in an efficient and effective manner. Robert Corpuz, president of the Disaster Response Team (DRT) 933 said they are planning to conduct intensified skills training on disaster response activities such as rescue and medical services in various local government units. The participants of these trainings will be tapped as our auxillary members in support of our efforts on disaster response, Corpuz said. He added that a system will also be proposed to encourage training recipients in rendering voluntary services for at least one year before they can be given a certificate. Corpuz also said the recently acquired two rubber boats donated by CE Casecnan Water and Energy Company (CECWEC), contractor of the Casecnan Multi-Purpose Irrigation and Power Project (CMIPP) in Alfonso Castaneda town will be positioned in the north and south sections of the province. With this plan, immediate mobilization and conduct of rescue activities will be done effectively and timely during the occurrence of flashfloods in low-lying areas, he explained. Corpuz added that continuing recruitment of regular members will also be pursued to strengthen their organization in the province. DRT 933 is the only rescue and disaster response organization in the province where some of its regular members, composed of government and private individuals were given insurance through the provincial government.
