PIA Press Release Tuesday, January 10, 2012 Cavite LGU appeals for more support from DILGBACOOR, Cavite, Jan. 10 (PIA) -- The local government in this municipality sought for further support from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jessie Robredo in terms of additional policemen, firemen, disaster equipment, assistance in garbage disposal and traffic management plus relocation of informal settlers.Mayor Strike Revilla made the request during a meeting with Secretary Robredo at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City recently to report his administration’s accomplishments for the past year in the areas of security, infrastructure, traffic, social services, and disaster preparedness, among others. The mayor also mentioned the continued support from local officials, including barangay captains and non-government organizations (NGOs) for the LGU’s programs and projects focused and geared towards a more progressive municipality and benefits of Bacooreños. Aside from Mayor Revilla and Secretary Robredo, Municipal Interior and Local Government Operations Officer Engr. Joselito Rozul and Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Elmer Rabuya joined the meeting. Earlier, the DILG awarded the local government of Bacoor with the Seal of Good Housekeeping, in recognition of the LGU’s good governance performance, particularly in the areas of good planning, and transparency and accountability.
