OrindayLUCBAN, Quezon, Jan. 10 (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region -4A awarded today two checks amounting P344,000 to two SEA-K associations in this town intended for various livelihood projects. The two SEA-K are the Kalipi Kaagapay sa Kagandahan ng Kabuhayan (4K) of Barangay 6, composed of 20 members and the Matatag, Maunlad at Masayang Mamamayan (4M) of Barangay Nagsinamo also with 20 members. The 4K SEA-K and 4M SEA-K associations received a livelihood check worth P185,000 and P159,000 respectively. Chedita Talavera Lerum of DSWD 4A Lucena City extension office said the livelihood loan assistance of 4K SEA-K will be used in the different livelihood projects such as sari-sari store, buy and sell of beauty products, longganisa and tocino making, buy and sell of Lucban products, powder detergent making, perfume making, buy and sell of RTW, herbal products, vegetable and frozen foods, powder detergent making and doormat and rugs making. On the other hand, 4M SEA-K association will use the fund in vegetable production/ farming, hog raising, buy and sell of avon products, sari-sari store, rice retailing and handicraft/ weaving. The livelihood loan assistance is payable within two years without interest. Project development officers Jose B. Gorordo and Chedita Talavera Lerum of DSWD-4A, Municipal administrator Jojo Raneses and municipal social welfare and development officer Librada C. Edan led the awarding of checks to SEA-K beneficiaries held at municipal building of Lucban town. The SEA-k beneficiaries thanked the national government for the livelihood loan assistance through the SEA-K program of the DSWD. (RMO, PIA-Quezon) |
