Surigao Norte to build “Kapitolyo sa Siargao”by Jun Parada
SURIGAO DEL NORTE, Jan. 10 (PIA) -- In an effort to bring the government closer to the people, the provincial government is set to construct a multi-million capitol building called “Kapitolyo sa Siargao” in Dapa, Siargao Island, this province.
Just recently, Gov. Sol Matugas and 1st District Representative Francisco Matugas along with the other local officials led the groundbreaking of 1,800 sq. m. two-storey Siargao capitol building worth P12 million at Brgy. 12 in Dapa.
The construction of the said building will officially commence on February up to July, this year.
Matugas said that it will now be easier for all Siargaonons to avail the basic social services offered by the provincial government.
Aside from serving the island folks in the 132 barangays and the nine island municipalities, Matugas said she has decided to construct another capitol building here because of the increasing tourists visiting the island. (Provincial Information Center/PIA-Surigao del Norte)
