Quezon appeals for support to real property tax collection campaignhy Lito M. Giron
LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Jan. 10 (PIA) -- Quezon Governor David Suarez encouraged residents in the province to support the ‘real property tax collection campaign program’ of his administration.
Gov. Suarez revealed said the provincial treasurer’s office (PTO) has to collect almost P1.8 billion amount of taxes from owners of real properties all over the province.
The governor added that if this amount will be collected, the delivery of basic services on health, agriculture, education and countryside development would be implemented for the poorest families in the province.
The tax campaign will run from January 9 to October 30, 2012. Taxpayers will have a chance to win one brand new Hyundai Starex van and 10 units of brand new tricycles.
Provincial treasurer Rosario Malou Uy said to encourage the municipalities, barangays and schools to participate in the campaign, they prepared a scheme where they can also win developmental projects.
Meanwhile, Regional Director Eduardo del Rosario of Department of Finance IV-A, said Quezon is the only province in the entire region that implement this kind of tax campaign.
He also said that tax collection in the province increasedd by 131 percent as compare to past years collection. (PIA-Quezon)
