DAR -Ifugao bares accomplishments, plansby Dan B. Codamon
LAMUT, Ifugao, Jan. 10(PIA) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) here reported its accomplishments under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) implemented in 2011 I even at it bared the projects lined up this year.
In a report released by DAR Information Officer Leanor Bascos, among the major projects implemented are the Bunhian Communal Irrigation System (CIS) in the municipality of Aguinaldo costing P500,000.00 and Wovawov to Panag farm-to-market road ((FMR) of the same town amounting to P2 million.
DAR also validated the Pieza to Magulon FMR , Mabatobato FMR, Bascos Estate FMR in Alupapan, all in Lamut municipality and the Butac FMR and Posnaan FMR, both in Aguinaldo and the Namillangan FMR in Alfonso Lista.
A consultation meeting was also conducted in the municipality of Hingyon resulting to the walkthrough of proposed irrigation projects which were bidded last September 22, 2011 the These are the Bitu-Anao CIS amounting to P4,769,360.00 and the Umalbong CIS costing P5,242,350.00, both located in this municipality. The projects are expected to start next month.
These two irrigation projects in Hingyon under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP) Phase III will service 60 hectares of rice terraces and other farm lands benefiting 150 farmers of this town.
Other projects include the construction of the P23,000,000.00 Poblacion-Cababuyab FMR with a length of 3.3 kilometers and the Piwong Multi-Purpose Cooperative post harvest facility costing P8,970,843.00, all located in Hingyon.
Bascos said that 90% of the DAR-ARISP fund has already been downloaded at the Land Bank of the Philippines in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.(JDP/DBC-PIA CAR,Ifugao)
