Ifugao Vet Office starts re-dispersal of livestockby Dan B. Codamon
LAGAWE, Ifugao, Jan. 10(PIA) -- The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) here has started the dispersal of 262 livestock to the different beneficiaries and the re-dispersal of 680 more as part of their program and project targets for 2012.
The livestock dispersal project this year involves 20 large cattle, 12 gilts, 100 piglets and 130 small ruminants while the re-dispersal of the repayment of previously dispersed animals include 15 cattle, 20 bulls, 30 carabao 65 small ruminants 100 pigs and 450 fowls.
Two ranchers from the municipality of Aguinaldo received 12 cattle and 4 bulls in the initial dispersal while the 130 small ruminants are already being distributed to the beneficiaries in the towns of Lamut, Lagawe and Kiangan.
According to farm technician Gilbert Caclini of the PVO, they already identified the other beneficiaries to be given the dispersal but they are still evaluating whether they have complied with their counterparts and the rest of the requirements before the animals will be delivered to them to ensure success in the livestock project.
Caclini also informed that they are monitoring the 1,310 animals earlier dispersed in the entire province involving 235 cattle, 65 bulls, 250 small ruminants, 120 pigs and 650 poultry. The repayment period of these dispersals has not yet lapsed.
The dispersal project is one of the strategies adopted by the provincial government of Ifugao to improve the economic conditions of its people and to help the national government alleviate or minimize the incidence of poverty in the province.(JDP/DBC-PIA CAR,Ifugao)
