GaitanoBUTUAN CITY, Jan. 11 (PIA) -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Agusan del Norte has presented its accomplishments for 2011 and set the activities for 2012 during the regular meeting held recently at the GR Banaag RCY Development Center here. Officers of the following committees also reported its accomplishments as of December 2011 in the following areas: Disaster Management Service; Blood Services; Safety Services; Community Health and Nursing Service; Red Cross Youth; Social Services; and Fund Generation. The PRC had 264 blood donors in December. It also conducted a total of 56 blood services activities within the month in partnership with other stakeholders. Administrator Cairo urged the public to donate more blood. He also stressed that blood donors should be within the age range of 16-65 years old. A 16-year old donor needs parental consent; while 65 years old person may be allowed to donate blood may he is a regular donor. The following activities will be conducted as part of the Red Cross' fund generation: 1) Bingo for a Cause on May 5, 2012; 2) Dinner Date with Acoustics on August 24, 2012; and 3) Raffle Bonanza on December 19, 2012. Meanwhile, Dr. Virgilio Nery Jr, city councilor commends the efforts and active participation of the PRC in the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. (PIA-Caraga) |
