Edale, Jr. CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela, January 11 (PIA) -- The Cauayan City agriculture office has registered 1, 890 hectares damages on rat infestation to rice plants which began last month. City agriculture office chief Rufino Arcega said the rat infestation to rice plants affected 24 of the 65 barangays in the city. The city agriculture office has started an information campaign to avert more damages on rice plants which may affect rice yield this cropping season. Agricutural technicians were instructed to closely monitor and make necessary steps to solve the further damages on rice plants which are now at their peak of the vegetative stage. Arcega and his men are now personally assessing the damages and will be recommending to the city government officials the immediate solution to the fast rise of rat infestations.(TCB/MGE/PIA Isabela) |
