Tagakog News: 86 creative writers dadalo sa Taboan 2012 sa Clark

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Enero 12 (PIA) -- Nasa kabuuang 86 na makata, manunulat ng dula, essayist, at fictionist mula Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao ang inaasahang dadalo sa idaraos na ika-apat na Taboan Philippine Writers Festival sa Clark Freeport sa susunod na buwan.

Sinabi ni National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) National Committee on Literary Arts chair Priscilla Macansantos na ang Taboan, na literal na nangangahulugang “palengke” sa salitang Bisaya, ay naglalayong magsilbing daan palitan ng ideya ng mga malikhaing manunulat ng bansa upang mas mapabuti pa nila ang kani-kanilang mga obra at kanilang matugunan ang mga isyung kasalukuyang hinaharap ng kanilang laragan.

Kabilang sa mga speaker sa Pebrero 9 hanggang 11 na pagtitipon ang mga National Artists na sina Bienvenido Lumbera, Francisco Sionil Jose at Virgilio Almario, a.k.a. Rio Alma.

Bukod sa mga panel discussions, magkakaroon din ng mga lecture, book fair, literary readings at pagtatanghal ng mga talents ng Gitnang Luzon.

Ilulunsad rin ang ikalawang volume ng Kapampangan literary journal na “Tuglung.”

Paliwanag ni Macansantos, ang Taboan ay isa sa mga pangunahing aktibidad ng Philippine Arts Festival (PAF) na taunang isinasagawa tuwing Pebrero kaalinsabay ng pagdiriwang ng National Arts Month.

Ipinapakita ng PAF ang pagkamalikhain ng mga Pilipino sa larangan ng arkitektura, pelikula, sayaw, panitikan, musika, dramatic arts, at visual arts.

Ngayong taon, ang festival ay naka-angkla sa temang “Tradisyon at Inobasyon” kung saan ito ay nakatutok sa paghahalo ng traditional at contemporary art forms at genres.

Kabilang sa iba pang aktibidad ng PAF 2012 ang Archi[types/texts] exhibits; CinemaRehiyon 4 (Pebrero 8 hanggang 11,lungsod ng Bacolod); Sayaw Pinoy; Kauna-unahang Asian Festival of Gongs and Bamboo Music (Pebrero 25 hanggang 28, mga lungsod ng Baguio at Iloilo); Music for the healing of “Sendong” victims workshop (Pebrero 20 hanggang 24, lungsod ng Cagayan de Oro); Tanghal (mga lungsod ng Calamba, Cebu at General Santos at Cultural Center of the Philippines); at Philippine International Visual Arts Festival: The Rizal Experience (Pebrero 17 hanggang 20; bayan ng Angono sa Rizal).
