DSWD releases P2.6K livelihood assistance to 16 SEA-K associations

BUENAVISTA, Quezon, Jan. 12 (PIA) -- Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Region 4-A Director Wilma Naviamos led the awarding of livelihood checks amounting P2,649,000.00 to sixteen SEA-K association which is composed of 280 families in this town on January 11.

Project development officers Jose Gorordo and Marvin Tiama of DSWD Region 4-A said the 16 SEA-K association are Narra SEA-K association, San Vicente SEA-K association, Vista SEA-K association; Sandigan SEA-K association, Bi-Sur SEA- K association Hilltop SEA-K association, Ilayang Wasay SEA-K association, 4Ps SEA-K association, Magallanes SEA-K association, Cabong SEA-K association, St. Isidore SEA-K association, Mabutag SEA-K association, Manlana SEA-K association, Sandiwa SEA-K association, PInamasagan SEA-K association, and Maligaya SEA-K association.

Tiama also said the fund will be used by 275 member beneficiaries in different livelihood projects such as sari-sari store, hog raising, vegetable and corn production, fishing, buy and sell and other livelihood activities.

Dir. Naviamos also said before the SEA-K beneficiaries to use o spend the livelihood fund wisely. The livelihood loan assistance is payable within one year without interest or collateral.

Naviamos also led the distribution of cash money worth P360,000.00 as social pension for the months of January to December 2011 to 79 senior citizens in Buenavista town.

Also present during the awarding of checks held at Buenavista covered court were Rina Andrey who represented Quezon Gov. David Suarez, PSWDO Sonia Leyson, Mayor Remedios Rivera, Vice Mayor Myrna Villamater, MSWDO Anibel Cayabat, project development officers Jose Gorordo and Marvin Tiama of DSWD-4A and members of the sangguniang bayan.
