by CT Apelacio

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Jan 12 (PIA) -- For efficient service, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 here turned over three brand new Innova patrol cars to police provincial offices (PPO) in the region, said police regional public information officer Supt. Resty Damaso.

He said the patrol cars were personally turned over by PRO-12 regional director CSupt. Benjardi Mantele to the chiefs of PPOs in North Cotabato, South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat, Wednesday (Jan 11) at PRO-12 headquarters here.

Mantele reminded the PPO chiefs that the utility vehicles are intended to aid them prevent crime or intercept criminal activities in their areas of responsibility (AOR).

He also credited the acquisition of vehicles to PNP director general Nicanor Bartolome who made sure that PPOs will be given brand new patrol cars to enhance their efficiency rate in intervention of crimes especially at field offices.

According to him, the new acquired cars will help police be “more capable and effective in performing their mission to better serve and protect” the people in the communities.

He said the utility car distribution project is spelled out under the PNP “Ten-point Action Plan” espoused by the director general himself.

With the patrol cars, Mantele added, police will have no reason to fail in their foremost task to maintain the peace and order in their AORs.

“Let us show our best performance in every battle that we’re going through because that is what we ought to do in this organization, and in turn, let us provide proper, adequate and timely response to the call of those who are in need of our service,” the Police Regional Public Information Office, quoted Mantele as saying.

The PNP believes that having a patrol car will increase police mobility describing it as very vital in monitoring the internal security of the region and keeping it intact.

The police regional director also expressed confidence that the presence of patrol units is important factor in police operations to enable them attain the vision of “a free-crime environment” in the region. (With reports from PRO-12/PIA General Santos City)
