4.2 magnitude tremor rocks Northern Luzonby Freddie G. Lazaro
SINAIT, Ilocos Sur, Jan. 13 (PIA) -- A 4.2 magnitude earthquake rocked some areas in Northern Luzon last Thursday afternoon but there was no reported damage or casualty, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) based here.
Phivolcs researcher Porferio De Peralta said the quake which was tectonic in origin started at 6:36 p.m., Thursday, with epicenter located at eight kilometers northeast of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte with a depth of one kilometer.
Intensity 3 was felt in Santa Praxedes and Claveria towns in Cagayan province; and intensity 2 in Sanchez Mira, also in Cagayan.
