Province, Jan.14 (PIA) -- This year, the provincial government appropriated the amount of P5 million to benefit some 4,216 indigent families, all PhilHealth beneficiaries, said Brenda Tabbang, executive assistant of the governor in charge of Philhealth program. The health insurance of sponsored members is good for one year only. It will be a case-to-case basis if they will be reconsidered when their membership expires. Last year, the province sponsored more families because of the counter-parting scheme. Aside from the sole sponsorship, the province has also sponsored families under the regular sponsorship wherein the premium is shared by the national government and the sponsors composed of the provincial government and the municipal government where the beneficiary resides. It has also sponsored families under the TRI-MOA wherein the premium is shared by the national government and the sponsors composed of the office of the congressman, the provincial government and the municipal government where the beneficiaries reside. In support to the PhilHealth program of the national government to give every Filipino access to quality healthcare, the provincial government here continues sponsoring indigent families in the province.(JDP/JBS-PIA CAR-Mt.
