Baluyut CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Jan. 15 (PIA) -- To promote the local energy sector and update stakeholders on the current energy situation in the country, an Energy Forum for Luzon will be held in this province. Spearheaded by the Department of Energy (DOE), the event will be held at the Hotel Stotsenberg, Clark Freeport Zone on Jan. 17 where representatives from the business sector, generation companies, private distribution utilities, the academe, civil society and non-government organizations all over Central Luzon are expected to come. The forum is part of the series of road shows aimed at discussing the policies and plans of the government, updates and development in the country’s current energy situation, activities, programs and investment opportunities. It also aims to establish a dynamic discussion and solicit recommendations from energy stakeholders in order to address the various issues and concerns in the energy sector. DOE Secretary Jose Rene D. Almendras, along with a team of technical experts from the DOE and its attached agencies will present to stakeholders the developments, ongoing activities, initiatives, plans, and programs of the Department within the Energy Reform Agenda (ERA) framework. Potential investors will also learn more about investment opportunities in the energy sector, particularly in Luzon. An open forum will take place after the presentations to address any energy sector issues and concerns of the stakeholders and investors in the region. Furthermore, breakout sessions will be held to provide greater focus on different issues such as downstream oil, renewable energy, power/electrification, efficiency and alternative fuels, as well as topics involving petroleum and coal exploration.
