PIA Press Release Tuesday, January 17, 2012 Asipulo folks urged to appreciate natural wondersby Vency D. Bulayungan ASIPULO, Ifugao, Jan. 17 (PIA) -- The Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) here encourages the residents of this municipality to make use of its natural wonders to boost tourism industry and economy. Provincial Administrator Guillermo Tadao said that the local government unit here with the strong support of its constituents can strengthen their sense of unity and purpose and to derive added inspiration to work harder together in pursuit of their collective goals for Asipulo. “Our town has indeed come a long way, it is endowed with a treasure trove of natural wonders that should make it a haven for tourism and the accompanying socio-economic boost that comes with it given the appropriate developmental attention,” Tadao said. He challenged the officials and the residents to be the first ones to recognize and appreciate the vast potential of this town and each one should take an active part in helping ensure that such potential is realized to the optimum. The town is endowed with high mountains with some narrow valleys. Among the places of interest include the Julia Campbell Agro-Forest Memorial Park and the Numbungngug Waterfall. “The past years have shown us what we are capable of achieving when we pool our strengths for a common goal,” Tadao said adding that the people should work hand in hand with the local government unit in attaining greater heights and bigger dreams for the town to become progressive. Tadao, who comes from this place, firmly believes that every citizen has the right and duty to be an active participant in community development which is integral to nation-building and that there is no one who has nothing to contribute. One of the positive behavior of the people here is the community driven development process wherein the public are ready to do their counterpart even free of charge for the success of a project, he noted.(JDP/VDB- PIA CAR, Ifugao) |
