Thousands of jobseekers qualify in Tagum City’s jobs fairTAGUM CITY, Jan. 18 (PIA) -- One thousand, two hundred eight (1,208) jobseekers have successfully found work during the recently-concluded 3-in-1 Public Service – Year 4 organized by the Councilor De Carlo Uy office in coordination with the Tagum City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Provincial Office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Thousands of job-seekers flocked to Tagum City Trade and Cultural Center to try their luck and submit their respective resumes to the participating overseas employment agencies and local employers last Jan. 12, at Tagum Cultural and Trade Center Pavilion.
In total, 481 persons qualified for local employment while 470 applicants were hired for overseas jobs. Another 257 applicants were directly hired.
Aside from the job fair, thousands of Tagumeños also availed of the mobile renewal of PRC licenses and authentication of birth, death and marriage by the National Statistics Office. Data obtained from PESO Tagum showed that 352 professionals availed of the license renewal while NSO applicants reached a record-high of 906.
Nilda Garcia of PESO Tagum expressed that those who qualified will have to undergo further training, medical examinations and final interview.
In his speech during the opening of the job fair, Uy expressed gratitude to Tagumeños for the support they had extended in his political career. The job fair was organized and held in the occasion of the councilor’s 27th birthday. (Tagum CIO)
