OrindaySAN FRANCISCO, Quezon, January 18 (PIA) ---The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-4A awarded livelihood checks amounting to P4,049,000 to 21 self-employment assistance-kaunlaran (SEA-k) organizations in this town, January 16. Project development officers Jose Gorordo and Randy Hernandez of DSWD-4A led the awarding of livelihood assistance to 21 SEA-K organizations composed of 435 member beneficiaries. The livelihood loan assistance is payable within one year without interest or collateral. Gorordo said the livelihood loan assistance will be utilized by the beneficiaries in different livelihood projects such as sari-sari-store, hog-raising, vegetable and corn production, buy and sell of products, fishing and other livelihood activities. Also present during the awarding of checks were the local officials of San Francisco and employees of San Francisco local government. The livelihood fund was released by the DSWD through the SEA-K program. SEA-K program is being implemented by the DSWD in partnership with the local government units which aims to help poor families uplift their living condition through livelihood activities.
