RudaDIPOLOG CITY, JAN. 18 (PIA)-- In line with President Benigno Aquino III’s Universal Health Approach, the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Health Office recently conducted a two-day Community Health Team Orientation at Mibang Hotel, this city. The seminar, which was held on January 12-13 was attended by representatives from the Department of Health and PHO, headed by provincial health officer Dr. Eduardo Gulayon. PHO Nurse III Rommel Jamolod said all barangays are directed to maintain a community health team to monitor the health condition of the local residents as well as provide proper nutrients to the children and pregnant mothers, including their regular visit to the health centers for pregnancy monitoring. The Community Health Team will be composed of the Barangay Health Workers, midwives, and barangay officials who will conduct a survey to determine the health condition of family members. Some of the municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte who have received technical assistance from ZUELLIG Family Foundation for the same purpose are the municipalities of Siayan, Leon Postigo, Gutalac, Kalawit, and Mutia, particularly Leon Postigo which was able to build its health center through Zuellig Family Foundation.
