PIA Press Release Thursday, January 19, 2012 Special education seminar set on March 14-16SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Jan 19 (PIA1) -- A National Seminar-Workshop on Special Education will be conducted on March 14-16, according to the Department of Education (DepEd) region 1.This will be held at the Urdaneta City University Gymnasium, Urdaneta City in Pangasinan. “Nurturing Children with Special Needs” is the theme for this year activity which aims to hone the capabilities of regular and Special Education Division (SPED) faculty and staff in addressing the educational needs and in managing programs appropriate for gifted children and children with disabilities. Participants to the seminar-workshop include therapists, parents, undergraduate and graduate students of the said institution. Each participant will be charged a P3,000 registration fee to cover meals, snacks, seminar kit and certificates. Those who will register from February to March 10 will receive a P300 discount. Topics to be discussed in the seminar-workshop are Inclusion of Students with Visual Impairment, Developmental Milestones and Childhood Disorders, Teaching Strategies and Intervention for Children with Disability, Sign Language and Role of Teachers and Educators to Children with Autism.(ANL/MHH PIA1 La Union with reports from DepED 1) |
